TruContact®

Many applications in diagnostics, medical technology and sensor technology require the stable coupling of functional molecules such as proteins to surfaces. Until now, there have been very few universal solutions for immobilizing any functional molecules on any technical surfaces. TruContact® is a hydrophilic and transparent thin film based on plant polyphenols, which stably adheres to plastics, metals and ceramics. The reactive chemical groups immobilize proteins, peptides, small molecules and nucleic acids permanently in functional conformation within minutes. After a passivation step (blocking), the functionalized surface is extremely protein repellent, even in undiluted biological media such as whole blood and milk. TruContact® is non-toxic and vegan, i.e. free of animal products and proteins.
