Fraunhofer IZI-BB

The Branch of Bioanalytics and Bioprocesses at the Fraunhofer Institute for Cell Therapy and Immunology IZI conducts its research with a focus on innovations in the fields of food and environmental analysis, diagnostics, drug development and process engineering.

The interdepartmental combination of engineering expertise and biomedical and chemistry know-how is what sets the institute apart in the areas of sensor technology, biotechnology production methods and automation, as well as nano- and microsystems engineering. The resulting research and development offerings are geared, among other things, towards biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies that need components as well as integrated solutions for their product development along their value chain.
